Rapid, unpredicted changes in wind power sources require grid operators to respond immediately by increasing or decreasing the amount of other power supplies. We will present and demonstrate a wind power solution that combines detailed wind forecasting using IBM's Deep Thunder and the ability to produce more accurate and timely unit commitment and dispatching of power generation assets.
