Welcome Reception at the Wyndham Phoenix

All registered conference attendees and their registered companions are invited to attend the PSCE 2011 Welcome Reception, located on the Fifth Floor Terrace of the Wyndham Phoenix Hotel, the host hotel of this year's conference. This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow conference attendees and reconnect with colleagues you've met at past events. The terrace is an attractive city-view venue for this plentiful hors d'oeuvres reception. Please note that cash bars will be available.

Evening Poster Session and Exhibitor Reception at the Phoenix Convention Center

Posters will be available for viewing during the reception hours; you will be able to meet with the authors, learn more about their papers and discuss particular topics of interest. This session is co-located in Exhibit Halls 2 & 3, adjacent to the PSCE Exhibition vendors, and will feature passed hors d'oeuvres and cash bars. Exhibition vendors will be available during the reception.

IBM ILOG Optimization Technology: Wind Generation Integration Using Ensemble Weather Forecasting and Stochastic Programming

Presented by Jeremy Bloom, Product Marketing Manager and Energy & Utility expert, ILOG Optimization

Rapid, unpredicted changes in wind power sources require grid operators to respond immediately by increasing or decreasing the amount of other power supplies. We will present and demonstrate a wind power solution that combines detailed wind forecasting using IBM's Deep Thunder and the ability to produce more accurate and timely unit commitment and dispatching of power generation assets.
